Gifts of adulting

I have a piece of cake and a cup of African tea. Why is this exciting, you may ask? Well,  because it means I finally left my comfort zone. I finally let go and started living the dream. My friends think I have gone wild, but I think I have stopped hiding. So many things are different, like the way I am not exhausted in the morning when I wake up or the way that my skin glows lately. Well, today I took a walk in the dark, and from the feeling, I can say this was awesome. There was a day when this wouldn’t have changed anything for me,like it wouldn’t have made a difference. Today, it means the whole wide world. It put a smile on my face,it made my eyes brighten, and right now I am content. Is this the goal? Well, it isn’t. I want more, but this right feeling right here is more than I had yesterday, and that counts for something. So I take a bite of this beautiful, tasty cake and fill it in my mouth. I take a sip of this tea, and then it dawns on me. I am happy. Oh,  wait, yes, I am happy. It is such a liberating feeling that I can actually say it and mean it from the bottom of my heart.
