ORIOLE IRECTUS

There’s this movie I once watched. It was about a long-lost love that these two people had. The chemistry was on point, and everything checked out. But they couldn’t be together, and unfortunately, this young man died. His heart was given to her son—the ultimate love sacrifice. Today I was on the road, and I saw this guy who used to be a nice business man.He has drunk himself to a place so dark that he looks like a walking skeleton. I thought for a minute about what would have happened if he had chosen a different route. If he had continued to do business the way he was. Right this moment, he would really be far away. For a moment, I thought about me and what would have happened if I had made different choices. I may not be a walking skeleton, but I could have done better. While I was thinking, a text popped up, and in that moment I realized something: the best is yet to come. Just because I missed a step doesn’t mean it’s over. Unlike this guy who has chosen to stay on the drinking path, I took a U-turn and am now in a better place. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but right here, right now, I have everything I need to do better. And like that love story, I made the ultimate love sacrifice and came out the other side. Now I know the best is yet to come.
