Make no mistake, people will celebrate you when you die. Not just people—very many people. Which is why it is important to live your life. Love the people who love you. The people that see you when you are alive and well—those that call you just to say hi,those that visit you just to know where you live—. Those are the people you need to be there for. As a country, we have invested in the finality of life. We show up in printed t-shirts and hoodies. We ask for time off at work places, and we take loans to go celebrate a life well lived. However, you will not bother to go the extra mile to visit the sick or to be there for a person when they need you. May this mashujaa remind y’all to celebrate life. To show up for the living, because being a Shujaa is showing up for the living. Dead people tell no tales; they will not smile at the flowers or the money you give. Life is for living; live it the best way you can.
