Former UFC Heavy weight champion Francis Ngannou is set to face Heavy weight boxing champion Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. After months of speculations, the deal has officially been sealed. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman stated that Tyson received permission to face Ngannou after failing to secure contracts from other heavy weight fighters such as Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and more.
The fight will take place in Saudi Arabia although there still details missing from the announcement which came earlier this week. One of the biggest ones being how many rounds the fight will be and whether the WBC belt will be on the line. This fight will be one for the history books as both fighters are top of the food chain in combat sports. If it was MMA, there wouldn’t be a doubt that Francis would win but boxing is a different plane field all together.
It is worth noting that Francis is not new to boxing as he started training boxing at the age of 22. Although he has never competed professionally, he still has the skills never the less and knockout power over prominent UFC fighters such as Stipe Miocic, Alisteer Overeem and more. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
