Tesla, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer has been brewing an upcoming smartphone which is expected to debut in late 2023 or early 2024. This is the Tesla model Pi. As if Space X, the boring Company and Neural ink were not enough, the man himself Elon has decided to take on the mobile market. With key players like Apple and Samsung, what can the Tesla model Pi bring that we have not already seen?
Apparently, a lot. All the way from Starlink connectivity to Neuralink integration, this will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. In this article, we are going to discuss its rumored specs, its Neuralink integration, the Tesla ecosystem, its integration with Tesla cars and I will finally give you my final thoughts on the Tesla Model Pi.

Design language.
The Tesla model Pi layout is not anything out of this world, but it has some design elements that most phone companies have not been able to match. At the back we have a quad camera setup consisting of the Wide lens, the Ultra-wide lens, a Macro lens and a Telephoto lens. Although we do not have much more information on these cameras, judging by the megapixel count and Tesla’s expertise in software development, we expect nothing short of amazing.
You have to remember that no matter how superior the hardware is, if the software tweaking is not as good, it is just not worth the effort. Take for instance Pixel devices. Google is able to take down the likes of Samsung and Apple in some aspects of mobile photography because of how good their software tweaking is.
Aside from that, the Tesla Model Pi will have the capability to change colors just like the BMW IX Flow that we saw earlier this year. The back end of the phone is coated with a photochromic layer which enables the phone to change colors especially under direct sunlight. It works by capturing light at different angles which makes it seem as if it is color changing. It is indeed a very cool concept but is it a gimmick or can it actually be useful? One other feature that makes this phone stand out from the rest, is the solar panels that have been seamlessly integrated into the back part of the phone. This should not come as a surprise as Tesla manufactures Solar panels for various domestic uses. This feature will enable the Tesla Model Pi recharge on the go. As of yet, we do not know how efficient the solar system will be. But if it is fast and efficient, this will be a game changer in mobile charging.
At the front end of the phone, we have a massive 6.7” OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Nothing too fancy here, but it is good to see Tesla keep up with other high-end phones. The selfie camera will have a 40MP lens, so we should expect above average image quality.
Elon’s Plan to integrate the Tesla Model Pi with his other companies
Starlink.
Starlink is one of Elon Musk’s companies which mainly focuses on worldwide internet coverage through satellites. At the time of writing this article, there are over 100,000 Starlink satellites. As you have already guessed by now, the Tesla Model Pi will be the first phone to have full Starlink integration. But how does it differ from the carrier internet or Wi-Fi. Well, since it works around the globe, this means that you can access fast internet even in the middle of nowhere anywhere on earth. As of now, Musk and his team are working to have it work everywhere in the world.
In addition to this, Starlink will also be available in Mars, so if you plan on visiting Mars in the near future be sure to get yourself a Tesla Model Pi. Once Starlink becomes available in both Mars and Earth, it will be the first service to offer interplanetary communication widely to the public.
Neuralink.
Neuralink is Elon Musk’s other company that is mainly focused on building a brain computer interface. What this means is that people will be able to send and receive information wirelessly between their brain and a computer. This has load and loads of advantages but at the same time it is a very risky process since a chip has to be surgically implanted to your brain. The upside is that it will be able to combat most brain diseases and disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and spinal cord injuries. This Neuralink chip also claims that it can cure paralysis from as early as 2023.
Since both Tesla and Neuralink are owned by Musk, there is a high likely hood of an integration which will solve so many problems. Take for instance enabling the dumb to communicate freely. Since the Neuralink chip enables transfer of information between the chip and the brain, the dumb can relay signals which can in turn be converted into speech and then output through phone speakers. With Neuralink, the possibilities are literally endless.
Marscoin.
Since Elon Musk is looking forward to colonize Mars, an economy is very much needed for a society to run. What better way to provide a medium of exchange than cryptocurrency. The Tesla Model Pi is set to have Marscoin integration. Better yet, it will be the first phone with the processing capability of mining crypto (Marscoin). If you are planning to travel to Mars in the near future, you better start investing in some crypto.
Tesla Ecosystem.
With the Tesla Model Pi, the Tesla ecosystem is complete. It was the one missing piece needed to complete the puzzle. With this phone, Elon Musk will be able to integrate all his companies in this device. Neuralink will work to cure some brain disorders and enable easier human and computer communication. As for Starlink, the integration will enable worldwide fast internet which is an essential in the modern society today. But what about Tesla cars? Well, you will have greater control through your mobile phone. Functions such as unlocking and locking your Tesla, temperature control, media control and so much more will be easily and widely available.
Final thoughts.
The Tesla Model Pi will obviously take the tech world by shock. Some of these features are unheard of in any phone in the market today. With the Tesla ecosystem, we should expect nothing but the best from the man himself, Elon Musk.
