The movie focuses on Elizabeth and David Abbott. Elizabeth Masterson is dedicated doctor who spends all her time at work living in San Francisco. On the night after being offered a coveted position, she gets into a car accident and ends up in a coma.
David Abbott is a landscape architect who is grieving the recent loss of his wife. He sublets Elizabeth’s apartment. He starts seeing Elizabeth ‘s spirit who does know she is a ghost.Elizabeth insist the apartment is hers. They clash but later agree to investigate why he did not cross over. They begin to fall in love with each other.
David discovers that Elizabeth is in a coma in a nearby hospital and about to be taken off life support. He rushes over to prevent it thus saving her. She wakes up with no memory of him until she sees the rooftop garden he built for her. The reconnect and may have a future together.
