Madame Adelaide Bonfamille live in 1910 Paris with her sophisticated cat, Duchess and her three kittens – Toulouse, Marie and Berlioz. She loves her cats, pampers them and decides to leave them their fortune. When her butler overhears this, he gets jealous and plans to eliminate them so that he can inherit the fortune.
He drugs the cats and abandons them in the countryside. The cats are discovered by an alley cat, Thomas O’Malley who falls for Duchess and offers to help them find their way home. They meet colorful characters along the way such as scat cat. The romance between Duchess and O’Malley blossoms . O’ Malley destroys Edgar final attempt . Madame adopts O’Malley and ships the butler off. The cats live happily ever after in the mansion with their friends.
The movie explores the concept of love in a wonderful and great way. The childlike way that love is shown makes it a good movie for family movie night. Thomas O’ Malley is an admirable character. Even though he is a cat, he should be featured among Disney princes. If you love cats, this movie should be in your watchlist. The movie is available for viewing on Disney plus.
