The sleeping beauty film is adapted from the original story by the German author Charles Perrault. The story takes place in magical land once upon a time. The king and queen celebrate the birth of their daughter, Princess Aurora. The three good fairies, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather are among the guests. They arrive with to bless, her with gifts of beauty and song before Merryweather can give her blessing uninvited guest appears. Maleficent curses the baby. Aurora will prick her finger on a spinning wheel needle and die before the sun sets on her 16th birthday.
Merry weather adjustes the curse to she will fall into a deep sleep only to be awakened by True love’s kiss. The fairies raise Aurora as a peasant girl to protect her. On her 16th birthday she meets and dances with Prince Philip not knowing that he is her betrothed. Despite the fairies efforts, Maleficent tricks Aurora into pricking her finger. She also captures Prince Philip. The fairies rescue him. He fights with Maleficent who transform into a dragon and defeats her. He kisses Aurora, breaking the spell. The kingdom celebrate their love and they live happily ever after.
