The film is about Scott Pilgrim a twenty two year old bassist of the Toronto based band ‘Sex Bob-Omb.’ He is dating his fan and highschooler, Knives Chau. Things change when he falls for the mysterious Ramona Flowers. He breaks up with Knives and starts pursuing Ramona.
He learn that he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. The battle is presented in a unique video game style. Each ex presents a unique challenge. He learns more about Ramona through the battles, her emotional baggage and complicated past. His final boss challenge is Gideon Graves, the ex who controls the ‘League of Evil Exes’ to try to control Ramona. In the end he earns the literal power of self respect and defeats Gideon thus winning Ramona’s heart.
There is also a Netflix remake titled ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’ ,an animation style series reuniting all the old characters.
