This British anthology series created by Charlie Brooker explores the dark side of the modern world. It leans mostly to the dystopian side especially in regard to technology and its impact on human behavior.
Each episode has a new story, characters , setting and plots . They each explore different aspects of society but they all share the same themes of dystopia, media influence, technological advancement and unintended consequences of innovation.
The most notable episodes are ‘The Entire History of You’ describes a reality where people can replay every memory through a brain implant this leads the focus of th story into paranoia and obsession. ‘Nosedive’ shows a world where people rate each other after every interaction, a woman becomes obsessed with her score causing her to spiral and her score to go downward thus messing with her place in society and mental health.
The black mirror episodes explore how a good innovation can be good until people start exploiting, manipulating and obssessing over it.
