Beetlejuice is the phonetically misspelling of the centuries old demon, Betelgeuse who delighted in pranking and scamming both the living and the death. Saying his name three times in a row will summon him. You can try it for yourself and prove me wrong.
It is a dark comedy directed by the genius Tim Burton. The story is about a recently deceased couple, Adam and Barbara Maitland who become ghosts trapped in their home after a gruesome accident. An obnoxious and loud family moves in and begins decorating. The Maitlands fail in scaring them but they end up befriending Lydia Deetz, the odd daughter of the new family.
They become desperate and summon Beetlejuice, a chaotic and crude bio-exorcist who promises to drive the Deetzes out. His ways become more that what the Maitlands signed up for and true goal is revealed- to marry Lydia Deetz and return to the world of the living.
With Lydia’s help, they banish Beetlejuice . They come to a peaceful coexisting arrangement with the Deetzes and live happily.
