Keep moving forward is the motto of the Robinsons family since their start. Lewis is a curious 12 year old boy and a brilliant inventor. Most of his inventions don’t work but he still continues to invent. He desperately wants to find his birth mother after many failed adoption interviews so that he can belong to a family. He gets the idea to invent a memory scanner to access his memories of his mother.
He takes it to the science fair but it is destroyed by a bowler hat(Doris) during the demonstration. A mysterious kid named Wilbur shows up. He explains that he is from the future and also tells him about the bowler hat guy. A shady character who stole a time machine and destroyed his invention. He asks for Lewis help in exchange of taking him to the past in the time travel machine to find his mother.
Lewis meets Wilbur family ‘the Robinsons ‘ and they encourage him not to give up and keep moving forward and fail proudly. The bowler hat guy and Doris steal Lewis’ memory scanner and passes it as his invention. He gains investments which lead to a change in the future. A dark future where Doris rules the world. Lewis fixes the time machine and goes the back to the past to change the future. He convinces Bud (bowler hat guy) that Doris is trying to use him and destroys Doris thus saving the future. Wilbur takes him back to his timeline where he is adopted by a scientist and her peculiar husband.
Meet the Robinsons is a good family film for movie nights. It encouraging and cheerful themes make it an insightful movie. It is full of unexpected plot twists and storyline. It encourages imagination and creativity and insights creativity in little ones.
