There is always a refuge you can run to, to find strength and that is including yourself. This is more mental than physical.
I want you to know that you are not alone. Sometimes we feel alone, and sometimes we are lonely because we don’t have company. It is important to know, that just because you are alone doesn’t mean you are. We often think that being with someone means that we won’t be lonely. The loneliest place you can be is with someone or with people who don’t value you. With people who don’t care. I have been in places where there were many people and yet I felt so lonely. It may sound weird, but there are places you can be, a place with many people and in the midst of them, you feel lonelier than if you were alone. I am sure you’ve gone to a place that you thought would be fun and you ended up disappointed and you wished that you never went.
The goal is not necessarily to surround yourself with many people, it is not a popularity contest. You want to be in the midst of the right people. People who care, people who genuinely love you and care for you. And these types of people are not found just anywhere. Like treasure you have to search and find them. Because that’s who they are, they are like treasure; to be valued and protected.
This means for you to find these kinds of people; you also have to be possessing these kinds of traits. Genuine love, genuine friendship is reciprocal. You don’t go in thinking and expecting that they will just constantly serve you. You have to also go in with an attitude of service. And if you are not able to do this, then what you need first is to work on your heart’s attitude. No matter the relationship, there should be mutual respect and reciprocal service. These are among the qualities of any thriving relationship.
Yes, you are deserving of wonderful friendships and relationships in general. Yet you have to level up to what those types of relationships require. Mutual respect, reciprocal service, unconditional love etc. If you are currently not able to give this, it doesn’t mean that you can’t, it just means that you have to work on growing in these things and as you work on them, you will naturally attract like-minded people. Such is life. You are not alone really, fight first for you and then the right people, opportunities and things will naturally come your way. You won’t even have to strive for them.
