I woke up and went to do what I love best: treat people. It makes me so happy to be able to see patients,to listen,to treat, and to help them feel better. As I watched this man’s fever go from him trembling to him falling asleep, it gave me so much joy. Medicine is a wonderful tool. It is the gift that doesn’t stop being given to humanity. Every day someone wakes up to research more and to criticize what they already did. To create a new medication,to improve the ones present, to make something better every day is a wonder subject.
There are people working round the clock to improve the tools used—people who have given their lives to make the world better. I am honored to be a part of the people who administer care. The people who take care of you when you are in pain. I am honored to be the person you can talk to when it hurts and you can’t stay with it anymore. It is an honor to serve humanity in this capacity.
